A trip to Indiana

In late March I took a trip to central Indiana along with my dad, brother in law and a friend. (Me in Red)
We had permission from the land owners to hunt at some cool sites.

We started off the day at sun up with a temp of about 30 degrees. This was the site of an old 140+ year old homestead. We found about a dozen coins and a few marbles but nothing before 1958. There was lots of pottery and glass shards and some of it was from pre 1900 but nothing intact.

Next we moved on to a site where they had been doing baptisms in the river for the last 100 or so years.
You can see the cement footings that were used to hold the planks that everyone sat on.

To get to this site we had to walk down this path

We spend a good part of the day walking in the woods that day

In addtion to these two sites we also spent time at a local park and we spent time as another old homestead.
Although we did not find any really big finds we had fun and found many coins and other items.
I didn't get a picture of everything but below are some of our finds that day.
Not shown in the pictures are the 6 indian pennies (range between 1869 and 1902) the chinese cash coin (pre 1700's) and the 3 dozen wheat pennies.
Also found were 7 silver dimes and a piece of a gold ring.
